Blog To Make Money – Choose The Right Tools

Server-based Blogging Tools

The kind of blogging software tool that we use and that you can choose from is server-based tools. There are two varieties of such tools: blog hosting service provider tools and server-based publishing tools.

The first variety is automatically provided by your blog hosting service provider. Hosted blog software tools are very easy to use and you do not have to install any software or manage any configuration too difficult to comprehend. These kinds of tools can help you focus on publishing your content.  Two of the tools in this category that are the most widely used are Blogger.com and WordPress.com.

With the use of hosted software tools, you are also provided with an assortment of design templates. These can help you in choosing the desired layout that suits your blog. More so, the layouts can be easily customized, including the fonts, columns, colors, etc.

On the other hand, publishing tools you install on the server has the advantage of giving you the level of customization and control you need over the configuration settings. Through the use of these kinds of server-based tools, you can decide how much storage space you allocate, extend the features of your blog through plug-ins or add-ins and make custom layouts and pages.

The mostly widely used tool in this category and the one this blog and many others that we have use wordpress.org (not to be confused with wordpress.com).  WordPress.com is hosted for you and WordPress.org is installed and hosted on a server like bluehost.  While the .com versions of blogging tools require less technical knowledge, wordpress.org has more flexibility and besides there are wonderful tools that give you step by steps to get started.

Below are tools we have used to get step by step instructions on building, hosting and marketing our blogs.

2 Marketing Strategies to Make Money Online with Affiliate Programs!

March 3rd, 2010 Rob Robertson No comments

The first strategy to make money online is building a list.

This strategy is the most important step to continue to make money long term. If you do not already have some type of autoreponder system you need to get one. Don’t be cheap here either because your entire business will hinge on this one piece of software.  We use Mail Chimp

You can build your list many different ways. You can buy leads from reputable list building companies and get them into your autoresponder. Most good list building companies will have an option to send an email to your autoresponder so you don’t have to manually input the lead’sinformation.

Another effective way of building your list is from the traffic that visits your website. This step, which is probably the most effective, does require you to have a website in order to implement an opt-in list form. Of course if your Affiliate program does offer a list management service then you can send traffic to the affiliate URL, but I don’t recommend it as you will usually not be able to email the entire list with special offers.

To make the most of your opt-in form and get the most signups, you should place it in your sales page text. It should be strategically located in the sales text after you present a problem. The title of your autoresponder email series should address the problem by offering a solution. In the example below we will assume that I am selling a hosting package and I want opt-in subscribers to my email course for back-end sales.

Example: You can use the pre-built websites or build your own. Many people think that building a website is hard, but I can show you how easy it really is. Take my 10 day email course “Build a Website with Ease”[signup form here].

The second strategy to make money online is driving traffic to your website.

When I say traffic, I don’t just mean any old traffic, I mean targeted traffic, people who are motivated and ready to buy can and will make you money. You can use programs and techniques such as Google Adwords, blogging tools and article marketing to drive targeted traffic to your website. Google Adwords is a resource offered by Google in which you can payfor your site to be show when certain keywords are queried in their search engine.

The secret to using Adwords is not to bid high on popular keywords. Instead, what you do is find similar keywords that still describe your website, but are used much less frequent. These keywords will cost much less to bid on and will allowyou to spread your money out over many different keywords, getting the most bang for your buck.

Blogging is another great way to drive targeted traffic to your website. To get the most out of this technique the blog should be hosted on the same website as the sales page witch links to your affiliate program. Once its setup all you have to do is fill your blogwith good quality content.

I recommend writing your own content which specifically relates to your affiliate program and or products. Here is a great tool about making money blogging to show you how!

This win-win situation allows webmasters to have quality content on their website, which increases the value of that website while driving targeted traffic directly to you.

Article writing is basically the same as blogging except the information in an article will need to have more useful content and be peppered with keywords that the webmasters are looking for. After completing your article you will submit (syndicate) it to content sites as opposed to blog search engines.

Content sites are places where webmasters go to find specific content to offer their readers. If you are a good writer you may at some point build up a name for yourself and finagle a deal with a webmaster to write exclusives for his site. His readers get great exclusive content and you get highly motivated targeted traffic.

Linking is perhaps the most widely used form of increasing traffic and page rank. However, if done incorrectly you could end up hurting your Google page rank and ultimately losing potential buyers. You will need your own website for this technique as you will need a ‘links’ page to place your reciprocal links on.

Many people go and submit their URL links to link farms in an attempt to trick Google into giving them a better page rank. This does NOT work; in fact Google has been known to penalize websites for engaging in these activities.

The secret to linking is to find websites in your niche market which have a Google page rank of 4 or above and enticing the webmaster to list your link on their website. You may think that you would be helping your competition, well you would be. But your competition would be helping you as well. It’s better to send leaving traffic to a partner than just having themclose their browser window, and remember that works both ways.

The strategies listed in this article do work and they will increase you sales and residuals it done correctly. Reciprocal linking, Blogging and Article writing are great ways to bring massive amounts of high quality targeted traffic to your website. Those strategies combined with an effective sales page with an integrated opt-in email list can make your business soar to new heights. You can and will make money with this system, Guaranteed!

4 Crucial Things You Need To Do To Build Your List

February 28th, 2010 Rob Robertson No comments

Online marketing may have developed a sudden surge these past few years, but many in the know how have felt its rise even from way then. As more internet based businesses are put up, the need to develop new marketing skills and knowledge based on this new medium have arisen. More and more marketing strategies are being discovered and developed to cope with the changing face of business the business world.

The demand for online marketing tips and strategies have drastically grown and a new form of business has been born, internet marketing strategies. While there are companies that are all too eager to help your site and business build a clientele for a fee, there also many ways that can spread the word about your sites subsistence in a more cost free way. One of this is Opt-in email marketing, also known as permission marketing.

Opt-in marketing requires the permission of a willing customer to subscribe to your marketing materials, materials that take form in newsletters, catalogs and promotional mailings via e-mail. The more opt-in marketing mail is sent, the more chances there is to bag sales and more sales. To do this, you must build a list of all those who wants to subscribe to your opt-in marketing list.

From your list, you will get your targeted customer, this is a good list since they already have shown interest in what you have to show and sell since they have willingly signed in for your list. These are the people who have liked what they have seen in your site and have decided they want to see more and maybe even purchase what ever product or service your company and site has to offer.

Many people would think that building their lists would take hard work and a lot of time to build and collect names and addresses. This is not so, it takes a bit of patience and some strategies but in doing this list, you open your site and your business to a whole new world of target market. Take the effort to take your business to a new level, if traffic increase and good profits are what you want, an opt-in list will do wonders for your business venture.

There are many sources and articles in the internet available for everyone to read and follow in building a list. Sometimes they may be confusing because there are so many and there different ways. Different groups of people would have different approaches in building an opt-in list, but no matter how diverse many methods are, there are always some crucial things to do to build your list. Here are four of them.

1) Put up a good web form in your site that immediately follows the end of your content. While some may say this is too soon to subscribe for a website visitors application, try to remember that your homepage should provide a quick good impression. If somehow a website visitor finds something that he or she doesn’t like and turns them off, they may just forget about signing up.

A good web form for subscribing to an opt-in list is not hard to do. Just write a simple short statement about how they would like to see more and get updated about the site. Then there should be an area where they could put in their names and e-mail address. This web form will automatically save and send you the data’s inputted. As more people sign in, your list will be growing.

2) As mentioned in the first tip, make your homepage very, very impressive. You need to have well written articles and descriptions of your site. Depending on what your site is all about, you need to capture your website visitor’s fancy. Make your site useful and very easy to use. Do not expect everyone to be tech savvy. Invest in having good programming in your site, make your graphics beautiful but don’t over do it.

Don’t waste your time making the homepage too overly large megabyte wise. Not all people have dedicated T1 connections, the faster your site gets loaded, the better. Go for a look that borders between simplicity and sophisticated knowledge.

3) Provide good service and products. A return customer is more likely to bring in more business. Even then and now, a satisfied customer will recommend a business always. Word of mouth and recommendations alone can rake in more business than an expensive ad. As your clientele roster grows so shall your list. With more members on the list, the more people will get to know about what you have new to offer.

4) Keep a clean and private list. Never lose the trust your customers have entrusted you. If you provide e-mails to others and they get spammed, many will probably unsubscribe to you. Remember, a good reputation will drive in more traffic and subscribers as well as strengthen the loyalty of your customers.

Blogging To Make Money

February 19th, 2010 Rob Robertson No comments

If you’ve ever browsed the Internet and seen the many “guru’s” telling you how much money they make online every week and wondered just how they do it…

Then you’re not alone I can assure you.

There are hundreds if not thousands of systems that will allow you to make money just like them; many of them don’t even require a huge amount of computer or technological know-how.

The hardest thing though is finding the ones that work and then having the time to make them work, after all if the truth is told what we all actually want is to earn large sums of money but with very little effort, am I right?

Well one of the simplest and quickest ways to earn an online income is through the use of other people’s products and very simple websites.

You’ll have heard many people talk about squeeze pages or landing pages and URL redirection as the way they attract buyers to the products their selling and Yes, they work but you need some techie knowledge or someone with the knowledge to build such a site and add your content to it.

Blogs on the other hand don’t.

Blogs have become more and more popular as the tool of choice by Internet marketers and to make it even better they’re absolutely loved by google and the other search engines.

Meaning they get good exposure and as a result traffic. (The life blood of your internet business) They can also be edited and added to daily without any real knowledge, basically the simplest way to get a start online.

If this sounds like something you’d like to get a handle on but aren’t sure you can or don’t think you’ve got the time, check out:

5 Mistakes And Can Make Your Blog Useless

February 9th, 2010 Rob Robertson No comments

Too often bloggers complain that after a great start, a year later their blog is as dead as can be. This is a common problem that almost always revolves around a small list of common mistakes made by the blogger. A blogger can sit back and expect the blog to do all of the work for him or her, which is a terrible way to approach blogging. A successful blogger would tell you that great blogging takes a certain amount of dedication and hard effort to make it work. You have to put effort into a blog to sustain it, especially after the first month or so of completing the design. Many people work so hard during the initial design phase that they get lazy after it is complete. To avoid this happening to your blog, check out these five common mistakes that can bury a blog.

Infrequent Updates

One of the biggest mistakes a blogger can make is to “forget” about posting. The most successful blogs are updated with new posts at least once a day. Some larger blogs are constantly being updated. You should try to create new posts as often as possible. If you miss a day here and there, it will be no big deal. However, if you miss a week or more without posting, you might as well consider the blog dead already. You have to take a few moments, even as few as five, a day to create interesting posts or content. If you are writing short and concise posts like you should be, this should not be that challenging. It is easy to keep your blog updated, if you make it a priority.

Too Much Advertising

Most bloggers today do want to create a blog to make money. This is a trend that can get out of control quickly however. If you are interested in adding ads to your blog, do so with caution. There is nothing wrong with a few appropriately places ads that offer viewers links to places that correlate with your blog’s content. However, adding a massive amount of advertisements on your blog is a mistake. If you have a bunch of flashy ads on your blog, your content will get lost within the hoopla. Therefore, you should always limit your ads to three or less per page. Make sure you place them in appropriate places that let your content shine through. Don’t allow enormous ads to fill up your pages either. They will simply annoy readers. Be smart about including advertising on your blog!

Unprofessional Look

Looks do matter when it comes to your blog. The more professional and crisp your blog looks, the more your readers will take you seriously. If you are interesting in boosting traffic, you should try a more serious layout or presentation for your blog. If you can afford to hire a professional, you should. If you choose to do it yourself however, you must make sure the end product is good. If you have a sloppy blog that looks “homemade” you will not likely have a great response. Try different layouts and approaches to see what gets you the most traffic.

Graphics Overload

Pictures can add a ton to your blog and draw in more readers. However, when done excessively, much like ads, pictures can drive people away. The main reason too many pictures can ruin a blog is because there are many web surfers who still use slow internet connections. When they try to load your page, it will take an excessively long time to do so. This in turn will likely drive them and anyone else with this problem away. Try limiting to a few pictures per page.

Inappropriate Content

Everyone knows that the web is a place where you can freely express yourself. However, if you want your blog to survive, you might want to think about that freedom of expression. Although you should always say what you feel, you can do so in appropriate manners on your blog. There are ways to say anything on your mind, without using profanity or any offensive lingo. If you want your blog to make money, you cannot be inappropriate with your content.

If you follow the steps discussed throughout this blog, you can make money blogging.  However as you will see the common theme is consistancy and good content.

Blogging to the Bank 2010 – The Truth!

January 28th, 2010 Rob Robertson No comments

Blogging has been around for a few years now. Most people use blogs to record their thoughts and lives, while the select few use them as a free way to make a fortune.

One guy who uses this to his advantage is Rob Benwell. In 2006 he dished the dirt on the tips and tricks to making a fortune using blogging. But as time passes the old systems become obsolete and new techniques are required. This is where his brand new, fresh off the press Blogging to the Bank 2010 system comes into play.

For those who know who Rob Benwell is like me, you’ve probably made a killing using blogs.

For those who don’t, he’s the story:

Back in 2005 he was struggling to make any profit online, had dropped out of college and was getting deep into debt. He was trying all the techniques the gurus tell you and wasn’t getting anywhere fast. All of that went in the bin and he started using his own techniques and started making more and more money using simple blogs. In early 2006 he shared this with the world and had a great ebook called blogging to the bank. Tons of people got rich from using these techniques (including me). He then spoke at Online Marketing Legend Yanik Silver’s underground Seminar where he revealed even more of his underground strategies. Then July 2007 he released Blogging to the Bank 2.0 which showed users his new methods to creating online wealth using blogs. In total both versions have been read by over 50,000 people across the world.

But as I said earlier, the techniques used in these ebooks are now showing there age. Some of them are not even working in the slightest! This is where blogging to the bank 2010 comes into play.

It’s full of great new techniques that work online right now! Everything’s explained in plain English with all the fluff cut out. I got hold of an advanced copy of the book for a much higher price than what it actually sells for and it has been worth every single cent! I got it in the afternoon and by the evening I was creating new profitable blogs. Within a couple of hours of them being active I had made a nice little profit.

Blogging To The Bank 2010 teaches you Robs new step by step blueprint to creating highly profitable long term niche blogs using the newest optimization techniques. There’s even a section on advanced Search Engine Optimization. Most people think SEO is difficult but Rob explains this nice and simply so even the blogging newbie will understand it.

Blogging To The Bank 2010 is a breath of fresh air and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to make easy money online.

You can Earn Money by Blogging!

January 26th, 2010 Rob Robertson No comments

Indeed this is true. If the first outburst of blogging in the Internet was introduced for hobbyists, now, you can enjoy doing it, while earning thousands of dollars.

Yes, truly and surely, you can make money blogging. Realistically, the most you can make is a few hundred dollars a month that cannot be found on trees or scoffed at. Nowadays, the Chillicious, a social network of bloggers, have provided more options and ways wherein you can maximize your earning potential by blogging.

Do you want to make money blogging? Then, choose an ideal blog site that will cater to your requirements for a blog, sign up, create a blog and publish it right away! Blogging sites allow you to build blogs according to your tastes. Others have HTML and link options. Others have customized templates where you can change your blog page’s color and design.

In between signing up and creating a blog, though, you must know what subject to blog about. Your subject is an important consideration, so take your time conceptualizing before jumping into the fray. If you must know, the subject will be the determining factor how much money you can earn with the blog you’re going to create.

Try to look for subjects or topics that pay more from per click among others. Check out Google AdWords and AdSense to know how much each clicks on a subject costs. Google AdSense then allows you to place ads on your blog. Once a user happens to open your blog and click on the advertisement, you will earn money on it. Just that!

Once your offering is announced to companies, consequently, they will contact you for an ad space on your blog. Google, meanwhile, will place any ad that has keywords related to your blog. Any which way, you are guaranteed to earn.

Other ways to secure earning from your blogging activities is to become an affiliate partner to another company. There is a popular affiliate program, which provides commission to its partners for every click on the ad, placed on their site/blog. You will also get a percentage from the sale of their product made in your blog.

There are plenty of affiliate programs with varied commission percentages. Others even offer profit sharing.

If you are blogging for a specific cause, you still can take advantage of it in a positive way. You can earn money blogging for a cause. You can ask people to give donations for a specific cause, though most of it will go to you.

You can use the PayPal donation button and put on your site. There is also Amazon with its honor system that sets up a donation button for you.

Are picking up nice ideas already? Well, here is one you will definitely enjoy, how about making money through blogging about unique merchandise and then offering them up for sale simultaneously in your blog site?

There are people who would gladly spend for merchandise that are custom-made, unique and totally out of this world! Edit your blog headline into a catchy one, create your very own logo and then offer up these kinds of items with your logo in it. It will be a sort of brand tag.

There are online companies that allow you to design your own items and those that allow you to custom design your logo, too. You will see how it will boost your blog once people start wearing and using your items with your logo attached in it.

Do not just concentrate on one way of money – earning opportunity. You can even combine these methods and earn more.

As the www.Chillicious.com develops, evolves and takes with it lots of internet users, so as earning opportunities increase by blogging. Just think, you will enjoy blogging as a hobby and earn in the outset, too!

How Long Does It Take To Build A Make Money Blog

January 24th, 2010 Rob Robertson 1 comment

I will give you the answer you are not looking for first.  It Depends:-)

I will tell you that it now takes me about 2 hours to actually get the blog built with chosen theme and installed plugins.  This includes setting up permalinks associated with my chosen keywords.  Prior to building the blog, I usually spend 4-8 hours doing keyword research.  As a part of the keyword research, I spend time at the CBENGINE website reviewing products offerings for the keywords.

As you can see it takes longer to research than it does to actually get my make money blog up and running.   Since I am not the owner of 5 money making blogs, it is getting quicker and easier.  However, I am always thinking about the next one so putting a timeframe is difficult.  Any time I am on the web, I would call it research for the next one.

Thankfully I have invested my time and money on the tools I offer hear.  They have collectivly and continue to collectively keep me on top of the information I need to build my online business.

I found some videos that help with SEO.  Watch this video: SEO Best Practices

Hope you enjoy and good luck…

The Concept of Preselling

January 22nd, 2010 Rob Robertson No comments

One of the things I love about Google Sniper because I suck at it, is the subject of Preselling.

Preselling on your make money blog is essential but also an art which is a subject I failed throughout school.  :-)

It is an art that gets your visitors to not only take action but also puts them in a frame of mind.  You want them interested and so ready to buy that they only need to skim the merchants pages.   Remember the only thing keeping a visitor from clicking on your affiliate link is your content.

The first steps when building your make money blog is to picture your average visitor and ask yourself:

Who are they? Things like age etc.

Why are they searching for the keyword?  Usually they have a problem or a desire for something and they are looking for a solution.

and most importantly…

What do they want?  Ignore this one and the visitor will hit the back button faster than you can way WAIT….
You can use every sales tactic known to you or man but if you don’t give the searcher what they are looking for your conversion rates will be TERRIBLE!

Remember you need to answer their questions and presell at the same time!

Here is a tip directly from the Google Sniper course.

Get a piece of paper and jot down the answers to the questions we just asked above. It will help you understand your visitor better.

One of the favorite Internet Marketing Phrases and what every money making blog should do is this.  Try to enter the conversation that the visitor/searcher is having in their head.  You need to enter the searchers mind, give them what they want, confirm their fears and present it in a way they are familiar with.

The Google Sniper product gives a great example of answering the above questions and how to respond to them.  It shows how to  presell by using a searcher looking for a weight loss product review.  I can’t retype the entire example but I can tell you that you will learn some great tactics from it.

In conclusion it is all about the Content and understanding the searcher and how to presell them.  If you are looking to start making money blogging or you want to enhance what you current are doing, I recommend one of two things or both.

Take a close look at Google Sniper and/or

Do your own research on preselling techniques.
