Blog Software For All Your Blogging Needs

November 25th, 2009 Rob Robertson No comments

Today anyone who has writing ability or is dreaming to be a writer has written a blog in the net. There is blog software that is simple and easy to use and a technically inclined and challenged individuals can easily acquire a blog online.

Many poeple are using blogs to make money online.  If this is one of your goals.  This is a great way to build a following and sell products or ideas.  At the bottom of this post and throughout this blog you see references to the tools I use to build my blogs (of which there are numerous).  Be sure to consider these tools as you research the best way to build your online business.

For some individuals, blogs are their projects of every day living, as they talk about their daily episodes as well as make tribute to friends and family. Furthermore, blogs assume a profound meaning written to compose and assemble political statements, endorse a product, supply information on research, and even offer tutorials. Any subject that are of your interests, you can be sure that someone has written a blog about it.

Blogs are now being written by musicians, politicians, sports figures, novelists, newscasters as well as other known figures. It is this blog fever that has raised controversy. The fact that anyone can compose and regarding any subject matter under the sun, complaints about certain write-ups are an issue. In a lot of blogs, names are being mentioned; do bear in mind that although you are entitled to write anything that interests you in a blog, you have to be very careful and take in a lot of responsibility. Do not make any statements which can become controversial; or else, be very prepared.

Why a Blog?

1.For personal acquaintances, relationships and hobby. A person can write a blog about his daily activities, what’s going on with his life as his way of telling his family and friends the things that goes on in his life. Likewise, one may also write a blog just so he can express what he feels about himself, or about a certain subject matter that is of interest to him.

2.Topical. Some blogs are committed to a precise topic, like computer hardware or politics. These are frequently read like magazines.

3.For marketing. Corporations are too, into blogging; when well written and implemented, this kind of blog can be a powerful instrument for business communications, forming eagerness and anticipation regarding their products and services offered, or used as tool within the company, keeping employees well informed about company issues and news.

Why someone else’s software?

A lot of Web designer and creators will laugh at the belief and idea of utilizing the software of someone else. This is can be correct especially when each software greatly differs from the particular requirements that a client may have. Yet on the other hand, when it refers to a Weblog software, there is no reason for apprehension in the use of a package that is pre-written, as most packages were developed through years of study; not just knocked together over a couple of days.

In addition, one may study its feature set. For a developer, it would take a lot of time and effort to write and compose from “nothing at all” every single feature in the Weblog software packages of today. For most people, a blog is there for the main reason that chooses to publish or make known your literature and texts on the Web, so you want to spend your time more on writing than coding.

Hosted Services

If one wishes to start broadcasting on the Web, yet does not have web hosting, one can consider looking into a hosted service, which includes Blogger, TypePad, Live Journal, and more.

These services are operated or handled for an individual, so there is no need to concern one about technical upkeep of one’s Weblog; instead, one can concentrate on his blog’s appearance and content. In just minutes, after signing for an account, one can readily start his own blog. Many such services are offered free, such as blogger. TypePad charges a minimal amount for monthly service fee.

Self-Hosted

When one has Web hosting on hand, or is eager to buy hosting, in which one feesl that the advantage will prevail over the problems of keeping up your own blog connection and installation, then you may want to take into account a package that is self-hosted, which includes Movable Type, Textpattern and WordPress.

Other hosting companies did construct the process of installation easier, permitting installation with just a click from a control panel that is browser-based. It is important that you check with a hosting company so you can view if this function is offered. Similar to hosted services, some self hosted packages are made available either for free or for a certain fee which is dependent on the type of package that you choose as well as the basis why you are using it.

Here is the list of tools that I use to build and market my money blogs.

Drive Traffic To Your Blog With These 8 Article Writing Tips

*Write a review on a book, experience, movie, radio show, or something you really liked. People like sincere reviews.

*Write tips on something you really know. You don’t have to do much research. It can be something you heard about recently, some opinions and advice, any bit of inputs. People love tips!

*Pick out a few questions people want to know the most. Do a little bit of research and answer their questions. They’ll love you for it.

*Write like you are talking. It can be very casual and may be more interesting for people to read. You don’t have to be an expert in writing, but just write whatever comes to mind.

*Choose a topic that is in less competition with other articles. Instead of home based business, you could write “how to start a home based business” or “How to find an online business that really works”.

*Give readers an introduction to what you’re going to tell them. Once you caught their attention, tell them in the body paragraph.

*Write a brief paragraph about you at the end of the article. This will help people know you better. If you are writing more articles, what is a better way than introduce yourself first?

*Add a link back from your article to your blog to increase traffic and potential sales.

Vlogs – Video Blogs Explained

November 15th, 2009 Rob Robertson No comments

What are vlogs exactly? The general term refers to a number of web pages that choose to use videos as journal entries instead of articles. Presented in a reverse chronological order, they find a great support in the use of photos and text; depending on the nature of the videos, there may be need of additional comments to make information relevant. The great part about vlogs is that they perfectly meet the present-day tendency of communicating via the Internet on a very familiar basis: when you see the person behind the text, the blog seems to actually live in from of you.

Most video blogs use some form of web syndication in order to upload and spread the videos online and at the basis of every transmission lies the RSS technology or format. Presently, vlogs, may even be accessed on mobile devices such as pods and mobile phones. Though, the very vlog phenomenon started as a collective attempt, there are many individual video logs that are authored by people who make a hobby out of it. It is a good thing to know that content contributors can get to be paid for their share in the process: on the sole condition that they upload viable material.

Let’s take the case of the Google video blogs that enjoy massive success all around the world, it is a collective effort of keeping in touch with people that are thousands of kilometers away from you. Uploading and sharing videos is an instant procedure on http://googlevideo.blogspot.com/, not to mention that Google also provides a directory of vlogs where you may find whatever you’re looking for. A similar example of a vlog collection that is also administered by Google is the very popular YouTube, which has attracted thousands of users ever since its beginnings in 2005.

The vlog working principles are less complex than those specific to a regular blog, though the basics are alike. For instance, if you join a video blog community, you’ll need your own channel, and signing up is usually required in order to be able to follow the rest of the necessary steps. Once you have a channel, you can simply organize the favorite shows, videos or podcasts from everywhere in the world or simply load and send them across the web. Ipods, iPhones and iTunes are perfectly compatible with vlogs, so that you can pretty much take the web with you everywhere you go.

Make Money Blogging – What Is Your Strategy

November 13th, 2009 Rob Robertson 2 comments

Make Money Blogging, Do you have a strategy?

Have you leaped into Internet marketing with your blog and you’re still kind of fuzzy on what’s next? I know if you are new, you probably have. If you have some experience, you might be like me and sometimes get deterred or distracted from your objectives.

I have found that my success has been enhanced by breaking down my strategy in to categories.

Strategy 1 is based on my need to stay on top of the latest trends and products.

  • I keep a list of areas that I feel I need to enhance my knowledge an I am willing to invest.
  • I have a budget that I am willing to pay which is generally under $100.
  • I try to find honest reviews before purchasing on places like the Warrior Forum
  • If  I sign up for the recurring billing items like club membership’s I make sure to save all the contact info so I can cancel if it is not beneficial. Even then I make it a practice to  give it at most 3-6 months if they don’t keep the info fresh and updated with new ideas.
  • I remain on the email lists of the creators of the products I have purchased looking for free stuff that I know will be offered and for new products.  I almost always review what they offer.
  • I use the  The “Cost Of No” Strategy for myself.  The “think it costs too much? What is the cost of not…” strategy tells allows me to analyse if  the cost of not gaining the desired benefit could cost me way more.

Strategy 2 is more like a task list of what I have to accomplish on a daily basis but also involves the strategy I use to market products.

Daily:

  • Morning’s are for putting the schedule together for the day.
  • I modify one of the many articles I have gotten from my purchased from the article products I bought and I submit them to numerous Article directories.
  • I make a blog post on at least two of my money blogs ( I have 5).  Often I use one of the articles for the particular niche from the thousands I got from my purchases.
  • I monitor the Warrior Forum for new ideas and product offerings.
  • I check my Google Analytics statistics.  This has turned out to be a great source for seeing what long tail keywords people are using to find my sights.  I use these with the Google Sniper techniques I bought.
  • Post blog posts to various shared directories.

Once a Week (usually Saturday mornings with my coffee ) :-)

  • I read other blogs to check out other ideas and site designs and make comments to obtain linkbacks.
  • I re-read the materials from the products I own for new ideas or things I might have missed.
  • I read through the offerings that I have gotten via email during the week.
  • Check my clickbank accounts for earnings and traffic statistics to adjust.
  • Make note of any interesting looking niches to create a new blog.

Monthly

  • Usually once a month I spend an entire day searching for a new niche to create a new blog within my notes, my purchased sources and clickbank.
  • I revisit Google Sniper because it has a wealth of knowledge for starting a new niche blog and I always get a refresher.
  • Create a new niche blog using the Blogging to the Bank and Google Sniper techniques.

Basically the key for word for most business owners is discipline.  Get into a routine and be patient.  This stuff works but not overnight!

How To Make Money Blogging – 10 Step Solution

November 8th, 2009 Rob Robertson 2 comments

Firstly, we all want to know How to Make Money Online, and one of the best ways I have found is by creating blogs. In this post I intend to show you how you too can learn How to Make Money Blogging by telling you how combining the techniques I have gathered from across the web helps to make me $$$ every day. Secondly, I am not trying to sell you my latest “Get Rich Quick” scheme because I don’t have one. Each eBook you read will have a wealth of information within them which will, without a doubt help you to discover the secrets of How to Make Money Online. I am only going to tell you which ones out of the 100′s available you SHOULD read if you too want to make lots of money.

I use a 10 step guide to setting up and starting all of my blogs.

I will give you a list of the top 7  resources later that I use and recommend to everyone who is serious about making lots of money online. One of the vital aspects people seem to miss out when they first get into blogging is the fact that their blog must contain information that people want to read.

Many bloggers are looking through closed eyes in this regard and if you browse through 50 blogs you will notice that most will tell you they know How to Make Money with Blogs when really all they tell you is where they went on their vacation or how many cars they have.

Are you ready to learn How to Make Money Blogging?

If the answer is YES then read on and start to make money with your blog. I am not here to tell you how to write your blog, that’s up to you, but what I am about to tell you is the 10 things I use to make money on the internet. You can choose to use these techniques or not, that’s your prerogative.

Step 1 – Finding a Topic

Turn off your computer, grab a pen and some paper and sit somewhere you can relax but also stay focused (if you are just starting out this step can be a pain because we all want to know How to Make Money Online and we want to know how to make it NOW). Think of a topic you are interested in and write it down (this helps because you will be more committed to trying instead of giving up in a day or two) and also make sure it is something other people are interested in too. A couple of ways I use to think of a topic is by using MetaSpy to find out what people are searching for, Ask IQ to find what’s popular and VRE Toolbar to find out how many people search for the topic (this is also useful later on to get traffic). Write down your top five keywords, you will want to use them later in your blog.

Step 2 – Create Your Blog

Find and create your blog online. I like to use WordPress but other popular Blog platforms are Blogger and Movable Type. You can find all the help in the program you use to get information when setting up the blog. Create your content, make it original, and make it informative. This is one of the main keys to learn How to Make Money with Blogs. You need to include the keywords you wrote down in Step 1 in the content of your blog. Try not to overuse these as it sends out bad signals to the search engines, and this is 100% not what you want.

Step 3 – Go Google

Sign up for Google Adsense and insert the code in the margin of your blog. You can customize your ads in many ways, such as including text links or image links. I prefer the text links only, as they are easier to blend in with your blog and don’t take the focus away from the information. Google Adsense will probably not make you a millionaire but it is an instant way of generating a small amount of money.

If you want to track where your visitors are coming from with regards to direct hits or from search engine results then I would suggest you use Google Analytics and again you can get all the help you need setting that up from within the program.

You will also want to add your URL to Google’s index.

Step 4 – Find Something to Sell

If you don’t want to sell anything and are happy with the income Google Adsense is bringing in then you can skip this step. If you want to maximize your income and truly learn How to Make Money with Blogs you will want to find an affiliate program to join. A couple of affiliate programs I would suggest are ClickBank and Commission Junction. You can sell anything from office furniture, pet supplies, movies and clothing to PC games, Dieting tips and Audio software.

Step 5 – Social Bookmarking

There is no better advertising than word of mouth, but the next best thing is social bookmarking. You will want to make things easier for people to do this. Social bookmarking sites I use and recommend are OnlyWire and SocialMarker and they are used for people to share their bookmarks or websites that they have liked with other people in their online community.

I would not suggest you add your own links to these services, but provide visitors to your website the ability to do so.

Step 6 – Write an Article

Whether your blog is about a specific product, for example a certain MP3 Player you are promoting, or just about giving people information, I would suggest you to write an article or a review of it. Most article directories require articles of 500 words and over so I would use this as a rule when writing to ensure your article is published.

Submit your article to any of the 100′s which are out there. I personally use a few of the Top Article directories such as EzineArticles, Article Dashboard, Amazines.com, isnare and SearchWarp. I also use a nifty piece of software called Article Submitter which will submit your articles to over 600 article directories, which saves you lots of time and leaves you to focus on writing your blogs.

Step 7 – Ping The Heck Out Of It

Every time you add new information to your blog, you want to let the blog directories know about it, this is known as pinging. Some Blog providers automatically send out pings when you update, but to be on the safe side you will want to do this manually too. ONLY PING WHEN YOU UPDATE.

There are a couple of Ping sites I use which will send a ping to multiple blog directories at the same time. PingMyBlog would be my first port of call and then if for some reason that site is down I would use Ping-o-matic. Remember, to only ping when you update or you could get blacklisted, and that is bad.

Step 8 – Yahoo! Answers and Forums

One of the easiest ways to get targeted visitors to your blog is to make use of the people you want to target. I would suggest you sign up to at LEAST one forum in the topic you are writing about, and don’t just go straight in there and start posting comments for people to look at your blog, they won’t.

The secret is to add the link to your blog in your signature and actively become a member of the forum, posting relevant topics and starting debates within them. The more you post, the more your link will show, and if you provide someone with good info the chances are higher they will click your link.

Yahoo! Answers is along the same lines as forums but the beauty of this is it’s viewed by thousands of visitors each day. If you don’t already have a Yahoo! account get one and then login and search for questions relating to the topic of your blog and answer them well. You can then insert the link to your blog and as with the forums, if you answer well you may have not only earned yourself a point or two on Yahoo!, but also earned a visitor to your blog.

Step 9 – Update Your Blog

This can be by several means, one is to add new reviews or content to your blog, and if you are going to do this I suggest updating every couple of days. This helps to keep the search engines happy as they love to see new and original content.

Another way of updating your blog and keeping the content fresh is to add RSS feeds to it. Make sure the feeds are relevant to your blog and provide visitors with helpful information. Visitors to a World of Warcraft blog don’t want to read feeds about knitting, or do they?

Step 10 – More, More, More

Repeat steps 1 – 10, this is the only way How to Make Money Blogging.

Step 11 – A Bonus Step

If you have your own product or newsletter, give your visitors an easy way to sign up to receive updates or information. This helps you to contact the visitor again with more great info or products you wish to sell.

How to Make Money Online is easy if you follow the above steps.

Some important things to remember so you don’t get disheartened with your blog is the fact that you will not become a millionaire overnight, it takes hard work and a lot of effort. If you are really serious about learning How to Make Money with Blogs then stick with it and eventually you will have an Ah-Ha moment. This is when things start to work and you think to yourself Ah-Ha, that’s how they do it. Your moment could be sooner than you think.

An Amazing 5 Step Formula Shows You How to Make Money Blogging

November 6th, 2009 Rob Robertson No comments

Follow these super simple 5 steps for making money blogging and get ahead of 95 per cent of other marketers.

*Step 1* Target a large group of people

First you need to research your intended market. You need find a reasonably large number of targeted individuals who have money to spend and a problem that

needs solving. To make money online you need to offer a great product, or service, that solves a problem for them.

You need to research:

(a) What are people searching for online?
(b) How many people are searching online for a solution to their particular problem?

First though, what should you be marketing in your proposed new online business?

Ideally, you should market something that you have a keen interest in, this will keep you motivated. You can find out what people are searching for at Google here: https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal and at Wordtracker.com who currently offer a free trial at http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com

*Step 2* Locate a great product

Once you have researched your target market, it is time to quickly locate your products or services. If you have your own product great, if not then there are plenty of options to sell, or resell other peoples products.

There are thousands of products you can find quickly. However, marketing and selling a really good product needs a little more attention (you could create your own but you want to get started fast, right?)

Next…locate your products

You can choose to promote physical products or digital online products. Digital products cover many different areas of interest and are incredibly profitable. There are no delivery costs with digital download products they are a good choice to promote as most offer good margins.

Here are some prime resources for sourcing digital products:

1. www.paydotcom.com

2. www.clickbank.com

3. www.cj.com

There are other resources but the above sites are a great place to start for all types of fast selling digital download products.

*Step 3* Market to your target audience

Now you have researched your chosen market, and located great products you can sell, it’s time to reach out and grab those targeted individuals.

So how are you going to attract your hungry buyers at little or no cost?

You MUST reach your target market in a way that allows you still to make a good profit. There are many ways to achieve this (that is another book in itself) but I’m going to show you the most cost effective way to market almost any product or service online. In fact it is so cost effective it won’t cost you anything (just a little time set aside to complete it).

So what is this free method?

Articles. Yes… article marketing is THE most powerful way to attract ready made buyers to your site for little or NO cost. You basically write something that is informative and of interest to readers of your target market, then submit your articles to directories to get them published.

The links contained within your published articles will point back to your website and they will lead targeted visitors to your product. Articles can also be a major factor in giving any well optimized site higher rankings in search result pages.

*Step 4* Offer a very tempting low cost (or free) product

When someone visits your site you must offer a FREE or relatively low-cost product to ‘hook’ your potential buyer from the outset. The aim is to get the prospect to ‘buy-in’ to you, so that you can start to establish a business relationship. A getting to know you stage if you like.

Make your initial offer very difficult to turn down and at the same capture their email address so that you can follow up if they don’t buy the first time (1 per cent or less buy on their first visit to a website).

Once your customer has bought into your first product, this could be a free email course, a “How to” ebook, a mini report or a cheap $27 intro product, you must then begin to build up trust and offer more expensive products.

The only way you can make a long term profit, and make money online, is by building on that first low margin sale. After the first sale you then follow up by offering ever more expensive products each time.

As long as the products or services you offer are good and deliver what they promise, you will be giving value for money. That’s what we all want when we buy something. That is how all successful companies and individuals make a success out of their businesses.

*Step 5* Follow up and offer more expensive products

Repeat the process over and over again with successful products and services and drop the unsuccessful ones. These simple steps may seem really obvious but guess what, most marketers don’t do it.

When you follow up with your customers you should be offering them related products to their first purchase. Use an autoresponder to automate your communications.

Follow this simple 5 step formula, research your idea thoroughly and you will make money blogging.

How Can I ‘Really’ Make Money Online?

November 3rd, 2009 Rob Robertson No comments

This is the age old question. Funny to think that anything about the internet could be ‘age old’ but here it is.

Ever since there was an internet for us all to use, people have been trying to profit from it. Many people have succeed, many are still trying.

There are plenty of scams out there promising you instant riches for only $137. The seller of this scam will show you proof that his method works by revealing his bank account. Of course this works for him, he’s selling the scam. His bank account is not proof that his ideas will make you rich. It is only proof that he is willing to cheat you out of your money. Why wouldn’t he be rich, he is collecting $137 a pop to tell his story.

What is his story? Probably something like, create an ebook, market it and watch the money grow. He will tell you that in order for you to create your ebook, you will need his $97 ebook software program. To market your ebook, you will have to buy his $197 marketing plan. It’s as simple as that. Wow, are you rich yet. No, but he sure is!

This is very much like the old mail order scams about stuffing envelopes. How many people fell for that trick? How does that scam work? Well you pay someone $24.95 for their informative booklet on mail order profits. When you get the booklet, you find out that in order for you to make money in mail order, you have to get people to send you $24.95 for your informative booklet on mail order profits. Sound familiar?

The only difference between that old scam and the new internet scams is the price. The idea is the same, it just costs you a lot more to get ripped off online.

So is there really any way for an honest person to make a legitimate income online?

Yes there is!  Google Sniper

It won’t be overnight and it won’t be effortless. It takes time and work to build a business anywhere. Why would the internet be any different? If anyone tries to tell you different they are lying to you. They are just trying to get you to buy their informative booklet, translated = ebook.

If you want to build a business, you will have to be willing to work, research and be patient. Nothing happens instantly and no one is going to hand you the silver tablet with all the answers.

There is a lot of writing that goes into an online business. You have to write website content. You have to write a newsletter or ezine. You have to write articles. If you hate to write, you are looking into the wrong business.

Yes, you will find people who will sell you the special program that will allow you to get rich without any writing. The problem is, how did you find out about that program? The seller wrote a sales letter. Hmm… sounds like writing to me. And remember what we already talked about? There is no super software that will make you rich overnight. If someone were to create such a program, do you think you would be able to buy it for one hundred and thirty seven dollars? Hardly.

Let’s stay on track here.

To build an online business, you will have to own a website. To create this website, you will have to research a topic and write about it. You will have to buy a domain name, (this is cheap and you only pay once a year). You will need to find a good hosting company to host your site. This can be pretty inexpensive if you look around. This is a monthly expense that you will have to be able to afford before you even consider building a website.

Once you have your site built and online, your next job will be to let the world know you are there. This is the biggest job there is. It is a never ending task. No one will even know your site exists if you don’t work on promoting it. Many people will try to sell you information on marketing too. There is plenty of free information out there all you have to do is look for it.

Finally, once you have your site up and running, you have people coming to your site, you will need a product or products to sell or what was the point? The easiest way to get products is through affiliate programs. These programs will allow you to sell someone else’s product and make commission off your sales. You don’t have to stock anything, you don’t have to collect money and you don’t have to deal with shipping.

There are many good companies out there that offer nice commissions on their products. It really doesn’t matter what you decide to create your website about. You will find someone selling something that will compliment your site.

So, back to the original question. How can I ‘really’ make money online? The answer is by working at it. Put your pie in the sky dreams away and start writing.

Making Money Blog; What Value Do You Put On Education

October 29th, 2009 Rob Robertson 1 comment

What Is Your Budget For Earning Money Online?

I have become amazed even more lately at the people that want to make money online but think they can do it fast and also think they can do it for FREE! I can tell them with all honestly that the simple answer is You Can’t!

So, I have to ask the question. What value do you put on your education. Do you look at a product and while thinking it might help, discard it to find something FREE or cheaper. People spend thousands of dollars going to colleges, seminars and who knows what else so why short change yourself and your education.

I can honestly say that the products I advertise here, I own. I can also say that I picked up new tips and techniques with every one of them.  Afterall, isn’t education ongoing for our entire lives!

So, if I spent a few hundred bucks over time to educate myself, was it worth it. Or better yet, am Iworth it?  The answer is ABSOSULTELY!  You see I believe if we quit learning, we die.  Now I don’t advocate getting in huge debt just to create a money making blog, but I do endorse the products here.  I just bought Gsniper for $77 to learn how to enhance my existing make money blogs, but I also want to learn how to create more of them.  Presto, Gsniper delivers in educating me and it and I was worth it.  Will it be easy?  Heck no!!  Do I know a heck of a lot more than I knew last week?  Heck YES!

So, I have to ask.  What value do you put on your education!

A note to the wise:  When you buy a product from the good guys, you will always end up with some FREE stuff too!
