5 Mistakes And Can Make Your Blog Useless

February 9th, 2010 Rob Robertson No comments

Too often bloggers complain that after a great start, a year later their blog is as dead as can be. This is a common problem that almost always revolves around a small list of common mistakes made by the blogger. A blogger can sit back and expect the blog to do all of the work for him or her, which is a terrible way to approach blogging. A successful blogger would tell you that great blogging takes a certain amount of dedication and hard effort to make it work. You have to put effort into a blog to sustain it, especially after the first month or so of completing the design. Many people work so hard during the initial design phase that they get lazy after it is complete. To avoid this happening to your blog, check out these five common mistakes that can bury a blog.

Infrequent Updates

One of the biggest mistakes a blogger can make is to “forget” about posting. The most successful blogs are updated with new posts at least once a day. Some larger blogs are constantly being updated. You should try to create new posts as often as possible. If you miss a day here and there, it will be no big deal. However, if you miss a week or more without posting, you might as well consider the blog dead already. You have to take a few moments, even as few as five, a day to create interesting posts or content. If you are writing short and concise posts like you should be, this should not be that challenging. It is easy to keep your blog updated, if you make it a priority.

Too Much Advertising

Most bloggers today do want to create a blog to make money. This is a trend that can get out of control quickly however. If you are interested in adding ads to your blog, do so with caution. There is nothing wrong with a few appropriately places ads that offer viewers links to places that correlate with your blog’s content. However, adding a massive amount of advertisements on your blog is a mistake. If you have a bunch of flashy ads on your blog, your content will get lost within the hoopla. Therefore, you should always limit your ads to three or less per page. Make sure you place them in appropriate places that let your content shine through. Don’t allow enormous ads to fill up your pages either. They will simply annoy readers. Be smart about including advertising on your blog!

Unprofessional Look

Looks do matter when it comes to your blog. The more professional and crisp your blog looks, the more your readers will take you seriously. If you are interesting in boosting traffic, you should try a more serious layout or presentation for your blog. If you can afford to hire a professional, you should. If you choose to do it yourself however, you must make sure the end product is good. If you have a sloppy blog that looks “homemade” you will not likely have a great response. Try different layouts and approaches to see what gets you the most traffic.

Graphics Overload

Pictures can add a ton to your blog and draw in more readers. However, when done excessively, much like ads, pictures can drive people away. The main reason too many pictures can ruin a blog is because there are many web surfers who still use slow internet connections. When they try to load your page, it will take an excessively long time to do so. This in turn will likely drive them and anyone else with this problem away. Try limiting to a few pictures per page.

Inappropriate Content

Everyone knows that the web is a place where you can freely express yourself. However, if you want your blog to survive, you might want to think about that freedom of expression. Although you should always say what you feel, you can do so in appropriate manners on your blog. There are ways to say anything on your mind, without using profanity or any offensive lingo. If you want your blog to make money, you cannot be inappropriate with your content.

If you follow the steps discussed throughout this blog, you can make money blogging.  However as you will see the common theme is consistancy and good content.

You can Earn Money by Blogging!

January 26th, 2010 Rob Robertson No comments

Indeed this is true. If the first outburst of blogging in the Internet was introduced for hobbyists, now, you can enjoy doing it, while earning thousands of dollars.

Yes, truly and surely, you can make money blogging. Realistically, the most you can make is a few hundred dollars a month that cannot be found on trees or scoffed at. Nowadays, the Chillicious, a social network of bloggers, have provided more options and ways wherein you can maximize your earning potential by blogging.

Do you want to make money blogging? Then, choose an ideal blog site that will cater to your requirements for a blog, sign up, create a blog and publish it right away! Blogging sites allow you to build blogs according to your tastes. Others have HTML and link options. Others have customized templates where you can change your blog page’s color and design.

In between signing up and creating a blog, though, you must know what subject to blog about. Your subject is an important consideration, so take your time conceptualizing before jumping into the fray. If you must know, the subject will be the determining factor how much money you can earn with the blog you’re going to create.

Try to look for subjects or topics that pay more from per click among others. Check out Google AdWords and AdSense to know how much each clicks on a subject costs. Google AdSense then allows you to place ads on your blog. Once a user happens to open your blog and click on the advertisement, you will earn money on it. Just that!

Once your offering is announced to companies, consequently, they will contact you for an ad space on your blog. Google, meanwhile, will place any ad that has keywords related to your blog. Any which way, you are guaranteed to earn.

Other ways to secure earning from your blogging activities is to become an affiliate partner to another company. There is a popular affiliate program, which provides commission to its partners for every click on the ad, placed on their site/blog. You will also get a percentage from the sale of their product made in your blog.

There are plenty of affiliate programs with varied commission percentages. Others even offer profit sharing.

If you are blogging for a specific cause, you still can take advantage of it in a positive way. You can earn money blogging for a cause. You can ask people to give donations for a specific cause, though most of it will go to you.

You can use the PayPal donation button and put on your site. There is also Amazon with its honor system that sets up a donation button for you.

Are picking up nice ideas already? Well, here is one you will definitely enjoy, how about making money through blogging about unique merchandise and then offering them up for sale simultaneously in your blog site?

There are people who would gladly spend for merchandise that are custom-made, unique and totally out of this world! Edit your blog headline into a catchy one, create your very own logo and then offer up these kinds of items with your logo in it. It will be a sort of brand tag.

There are online companies that allow you to design your own items and those that allow you to custom design your logo, too. You will see how it will boost your blog once people start wearing and using your items with your logo attached in it.

Do not just concentrate on one way of money – earning opportunity. You can even combine these methods and earn more.

As the www.Chillicious.com develops, evolves and takes with it lots of internet users, so as earning opportunities increase by blogging. Just think, you will enjoy blogging as a hobby and earn in the outset, too!

How Long Does It Take To Build A Make Money Blog

January 24th, 2010 Rob Robertson 1 comment

I will give you the answer you are not looking for first.  It Depends:-)

I will tell you that it now takes me about 2 hours to actually get the blog built with chosen theme and installed plugins.  This includes setting up permalinks associated with my chosen keywords.  Prior to building the blog, I usually spend 4-8 hours doing keyword research.  As a part of the keyword research, I spend time at the CBENGINE website reviewing products offerings for the keywords.

As you can see it takes longer to research than it does to actually get my make money blog up and running.   Since I am not the owner of 5 money making blogs, it is getting quicker and easier.  However, I am always thinking about the next one so putting a timeframe is difficult.  Any time I am on the web, I would call it research for the next one.

Thankfully I have invested my time and money on the tools I offer hear.  They have collectivly and continue to collectively keep me on top of the information I need to build my online business.

I found some videos that help with SEO.  Watch this video: SEO Best Practices

Hope you enjoy and good luck…

The Concept of Preselling

January 22nd, 2010 Rob Robertson No comments

One of the things I love about Google Sniper because I suck at it, is the subject of Preselling.

Preselling on your make money blog is essential but also an art which is a subject I failed throughout school.  :-)

It is an art that gets your visitors to not only take action but also puts them in a frame of mind.  You want them interested and so ready to buy that they only need to skim the merchants pages.   Remember the only thing keeping a visitor from clicking on your affiliate link is your content.

The first steps when building your make money blog is to picture your average visitor and ask yourself:

Who are they? Things like age etc.

Why are they searching for the keyword?  Usually they have a problem or a desire for something and they are looking for a solution.

and most importantly…

What do they want?  Ignore this one and the visitor will hit the back button faster than you can way WAIT….
You can use every sales tactic known to you or man but if you don’t give the searcher what they are looking for your conversion rates will be TERRIBLE!

Remember you need to answer their questions and presell at the same time!

Here is a tip directly from the Google Sniper course.

Get a piece of paper and jot down the answers to the questions we just asked above. It will help you understand your visitor better.

One of the favorite Internet Marketing Phrases and what every money making blog should do is this.  Try to enter the conversation that the visitor/searcher is having in their head.  You need to enter the searchers mind, give them what they want, confirm their fears and present it in a way they are familiar with.

The Google Sniper product gives a great example of answering the above questions and how to respond to them.  It shows how to  presell by using a searcher looking for a weight loss product review.  I can’t retype the entire example but I can tell you that you will learn some great tactics from it.

In conclusion it is all about the Content and understanding the searcher and how to presell them.  If you are looking to start making money blogging or you want to enhance what you current are doing, I recommend one of two things or both.

Take a close look at Google Sniper and/or

Do your own research on preselling techniques.

How Long Does It Take To Make Money From a Blog

January 19th, 2010 Rob Robertson 2 comments

The people I have been teaching how to build a blog that is built for SEO (search engine optimization), always start with the “how to’s” of building, maintaining, and monetizing their blog.

The second question that people normally ask  “how long is it going to take to make money?”. I tell them that this is not Get RICH QUICK!  Just like most things in life, there is no legitimate quick and easy way. It takes time and very hard work!

I can tell you that I have been blogging for a few years now but only in the last 12 months have I done it with the goal of making money.

But, for more the last year I was working at it about 15 hours a week.  Prior to this I did not  know anything about blogging to make money, getting traffic, etc.

It was not until about a month ago that my blogs started to show a steady flow of income.  To be honest, this coincides with my purchase of Google Sniper which, for me, was my ‘ah ha’ moment.

From other people I know who make some money their blogs, this timing seems to typical. A 12-18 month window is a great target if your diligent. While the first few months didn’t yield much income, I did get my appetite whetted by making a little bit.  It was just enough to get me more motivated.   While I wish I could tell you that you could jump right ahead to where the income starts increasing quicker, but I just don’t think it is likely.

There are lots of tips in the posts of this blog.  However even with all this information and tools we recommend, I don’t think I would be doing you justice by guaranteeing a shorter time frame. I do wish I had known at the beginning, what I write about in this blog.  It may make things go a lot quicker, but there is no getting around the fact that it is going to take time to get there.

But just like anything, the more you put in, the more you get out. The two keys are consistency and a willingness to learn. Without them, I would say that it will be very difficult to make money with your blog.

Blog For Money 3 Tips For Long Term Income

January 16th, 2010 Rob Robertson No comments

Quality of Conent Not Just Quanity
This is the most important aspect to consider and to take care. The blog without quality content is just like a sweet tea without the sugar. The content should have the reader feeling it is fresh and with quality information in every post. The reader will again and again visit your blog if they finds some useful and fresh information relevant to their needs. You should maintain your blog on timely basis whether it be daily, weekly or monthly.  Different types of blogs need different update schedules but quality content is the major aspect of almost every type of successful blog and needs to be maintained at every cost.

Consistency of Content
You must devote some time to your blog on regular basis in order to keep your blog fresh. You must post new and unique content on regular and consistent basis.

Freshness of Your Content
Always keep your blog up to date. You must discuss new and up to date topics on your blog related to your chosen niche. If you have a blog related to sports then you must discuss about latest seasons or games rather discussing games or seasons finished for the year. People are only interested in new and up to date content, out dated content or information will surely leave a question mark on the overall reputation of your blog.

Blogging To Make Money-Where Do Your Ideas and Content Come From?

January 15th, 2010 Rob Robertson No comments

Money Blog question mark

  1. Ever hit the WALL on Content?
  2. Ever hit the Wall on Ideas for a new money making blog or website?
  3. Ever wonder why your not getting traffic?
  4. Ever wonder why the traffic your getting is not converting?

First, let’s assume you know how to build a blog and get it hosted.  If you are a beginner and have not done this, you really need to take a look at Blogging To The Bank 3.0.  You will learn how to do this quickly and easily.  The only variation I would make to what is taught in that class is that I use blueHost as my hosting company.  It is extremely reliable and easy to use.

Let’s discuss how we address the above problems which occur to every affililate marketer on the planet!

Content.  Unless you are a just a wealth of knowledge then you need to either hire a writer or purchase private label rights articles.  No matter what your niche market, article directories will have articles to cover the topic.  I can guarantee you will find something.  You can modifiy these and use them for blog posts and for articles to be submitted to the numerous sites on the internet that host these.   These products will also educate you about where to submit the articles.

Ideas. This  is where a tool like Google Sniper really helps.  You can also get FREE ideas at places like IM Remarkable 36 Money Pulling Niches.  This link will give you a link to download a FREE PDF that talks about niches to market.  Coupled with Google Sniper and Clickbank Digital Products, you can get the ideas and tricks you need to get a blog up and running that is Search Engine Optimized.   We refer to the Sniper videos often to pick up new tricks.

Traffic.  You can search all over the internet to get ideas about Search Engine Optimization.  There are so many ideas being tossed around that it will make your head spin.  The ideas that we follow are again found in Google Sniper.  Here is why:  1.  we have 3 blogs that are getting traffic using these techniques.  You don’t go after the most competitive keywords.  However, you do research keywords that are getting a medium level of traffic and then you research the competition and see if what you can build is viable for garnering traffic.  Sniper teaches you this!  Very Cool Stuff.

Converting.  This can be a result of a few things.  First the product you chose to market online does not have a very good converting sales page.  You really don’t have much control over this one except to maybe write your own sales page that links to the products sales page.  Maybe you can overcome the the product creators shortcomings.  This is something ( sales page creation)  that  Google Sniper also teaches.  It works wonders if done right.

In Summary, all the tools we teach about here are tools we use every day to make money blogging.  They work and are not scams at all.  They all offer MONEY BACK GUARANTEES SO THERE IS NO RISK.  See the stuff on the upper right corner of this blob!

Review of Blogging To The Bank 3.0

By now I think most people in the world know about blogs.

money blog

What most don’t know as there is a great income to be made as well for free.
Rob Benwell is only a mere 24 years old and has already made several million dollars. Early in 2006 he shared his secrets with the world in his highly successful Blogging To The Bank ebook and has made making money online a whole lot easier for everyone.

Just over two years after the success of his first book and over 20,000 copies sold of it and the 2007 2.0 update he is now releasing his third version of Blogging to the Bank helping to wet our appetites and keep the fat bucks rolling in.
I got this book as soon as I could and it covers quite a lot of new information and techniques to adapt your blog to the new demands of the major search engines. Many of the techniques in the old book are now dated and don’t work so well. This is why Blogging To The Bank 3.0 is a godsend.

Also this guy doesn’t consider himself to be a “guru”, he’s just a normal guy who wants to help the little guys out. I find this a nice change as he doesn’t talk “down” to you like most of the other guys do. He explains everything in a nice simple manor so everyone can understand.
Saying that when he “goes off on one” it may take a few reads until you get it but when you do it’s just shear genius. Some of the topics in my opinion could have been covered a little more, then others went into great detail. You also get his 5 Blogging Commandments For 2009 that you must follow to give you blogs the greatest success in 2009 and keep them future proofed. This should be printed out and put on the wall of every online marketer without a doubt! His book starts off with market research (so that you are making the most of your time) to building your blogging empire. Everything is covered in this new outing that helps bloggers withtodays online issues regarding making the all mighty search engines happy.

Final Verdict: if you are out there in the blogging world and want to make money the easy way then I highly recommend Blogging To The Bank 3.0.
Why work harder than you need to as the new techniques are there ready for you to simply implement.

Blog To Make Money – More Tips

Now that you are part of the blogging phenomenon that has spread all around the world, or you simply aspire to learn something about the online community, there is plenty of assistance you can find online to help you optimize your own blog the best way you want.

For instance, a host giant like www.xanga.com provides a great chance to start a blog on your own; it is a good opportunity for anyone interested in joining a world-wide community that shares pictures, videos, thoughts and points of view. Furthermore, you’ll also get precious information from many domains.

Another such great host site is www.myspace.com where you may register your blog under a variety of categories depending on the theme and topic. There is a wide selection of users and definitely good quality traffic if you make the blog worth visiting.

For those who want to make some money with their blogs, by advertising, I strongly recommend www.adsense.com, a Google-joint program that enables bloggers to make a really good income. How come? On this site you closely follow all the necessary steps to choose the ads (both images and text) that best match your blog content.

It is the same business direction that triggers lots of queries in terms of Internet marketing: you may learn more about the bright or the dark sides of the web by having a look at http://www.marketingquickiesv2.com/ionut/first20.html.

Blogging takes time and effort, and you can definitely avoid some mistakes other pros warn against by permanently inquiring on new stratagems to use with Adsense; after all you have to make as much money as you can. Hence, http://www.marketingquickiesv2.com/adsense-adwords-marketing.html is a site that should teach you something.

You should also need to subscribe to one of the many sites that provide blog lists  so that you may be more easily found by interested users. http://www.blogcatalog.com/ is a good choice to promote your blog and create traffic.

In the same listing categories we have to mention the giant http://dir.yahoo.com/news_and_media/blogs/ that is one comprehensive directory where you’ll definitely want to have your blog subscribed. The same stays true for http://directory.google.com/Top/Computers/Internet/On_the_Web/Weblogs/ that functions according to the same working principles.

We should also point out to a “blog on blogs” that is definitely worth visiting given the large amount of information on the topic: http://www.problogger.net/. For someone who is just learning the rules of the game, there is much to find out here!

Last but not least, there are all sorts of professional sites that can help you with the tools you actually need for blogging. Here I refer to http://asymptomatic.net/blogbreakdown.htm and other similar pages that may guide and assist you in the attempt to find the software that best matches your blog. Good luck!
